Mgr. Nikola Karasová

Nikola Karasová is a PhD student in Contemporary History at the Department of Russian and East European Studies of the Institute of International Studies, Charles University in Prague. She holds a degree in area studies and political science. During her studies she has been concentrating mostly on the issues connected to authoritarian rule, political extremism and populism with a special emphasis on the modern history and politics of Greece. Currently her research focus includes history and politics of post-conflict societies, namely the political situation in Greece after the civil war. Secondly she is taking part in the PhD team research project on recent developments within Orthodox churches in Greece, Serbia and Russia.
